What it is
Vitamin B5 is pantothenic acid. The name means it shows up widely in foods. In metabolism it is part of everyday coenzyme A chemistry.
The molecule is one chain, not a ring: a small branched end, an amide in the middle, and a carboxylic acid at the far end. Formula C₉H₁₇NO₅.
It is not vitamin B1. B1 is thiamine. B5 is this chain.
Why it’s in 8 Hour
Pantothenic acid is in the patch for B vitamin metabolism support, listed with the other B vitamins you wear.
17 mcg of vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) per comparison-chart serving (1 to 2 patches). † All ingredients in the patch column are per (2) patches. Divide if using one (1) patch. Figures are from the comparison flyer dated 8/24/15.
